Introduction
The ability to move from one place to another is integral in everyday life. Convenience is one of the main things that most commuters seek. Uber has been able to capture the hearts of many through the use of technology that make it easy, safe and luxurious to move. It has not been a smooth sail to achieve what Uber has so far but it has proven very intentional in taking steps that ensure it stays relevant and ahead of competition CITATION Ada17 \l 1033 (Kasi, 2017). This paper seeks to analyze the strategies that Uber uses in its operations for continued success.

The Porters forces that analyze competition are helpful in understanding how Uber operates in the diversified industry. The drivers have low bargaining power due to the lack of drivers’ union. This gives Uber an edge to make more profits as they can pay them lower wages thus cutting the cost of operation. On the other hand, the consumers of Uber services have a relatively high power on the operations CITATION Ada17 \l 1033 (Kasi, 2017). This is because of the existence of substitutes like trains, busses which are cheaper, limo cabs which are more luxurious and taxis that are almost identical. This prompts the company to improve the quality of their service which cuts down the profit margin.
