The language barrier can present a huge challenge when going global. One of the funniest and the most embarrassing examples of a "lost-in-translation" ad is Pepsi's "come alive with the Pepsi generation" campaign. When the ad was translated to Chinese, it came out as "Pepsi will bring your ancestors from the grave". There are many other examples out there. Would you like to share one? Translating an advertisement from one language to another may lead to the loss of the original intended meaning and, in some cases, lead to an unintentional offensive meaning.
