1 What is the difference between “strong AI” and “weak AI?” How has Google been able to turn problems seeming to require strong AI into ones that work with narrow AI?
Artificial intelligence is defined as the ability of machines to perform tasks done by human beings effectively. Under strong AI, machines can think and execute tasks independently, the same way humans do. On the other hand, under weak AI, machines cannot carry out tasks independently, hence the need for human interference. Machines that strong AI powers can make independent decisions, whereas those powered by Weak AI depend on human behavior to operate (Flowers, 2019). Google had been able to turn problems that require strong AI into weak AI through human simulation programming. Through this, the machines can sense similar to what they know and do the appropriate classification.
