New York States definition of Child Abuse
New York’s Family Court Act defines child abuse as an act of failure or failure by a parent or caretaker that results in serious physical harm, medical neglect, educational neglect, emotional harm, sexual abuse, and exploitation of a child aged 18 years and below (Bloomberg, n.d.).
