List the four major types of tissues found in the human body and describe the structural features of each. 
Chapter 11 1.1 Epithelial tissue covers the body and lines its cavities. they can be squamous epithelium, cuboidal epithelium, and columnar epithelium, and they are also simple, stratified, or pseudostratified and may also have cilia or microvilli. Sometimes the epithelial cells sometimes form glands that secrete into ducts or into the blood.
In connective tissue the cells are separated by a matrix, often binds body parts together. The matrix mostly contains collagen fibers, reticular fibers, and elastic fibers. This tissue contains the ground substance, fibers and cells, with the ground substance and Fibers making up the extracellular matrix, while the fibers are collagen, elastic fibers and reticular fibers.
Muscular tissue is composed of cells called muscle fibers, and these fibers contain actin filaments and myosin filaments, which influence movement. There are three types of muscular tissue, skeletal muscle, smooth muscle and cardiac muscle and each has its own features and structure
The nervous tissue is made up of nerve cells, and there are nerves, the spinal cord and the brain.

Epithelial tissues cover the body and line its cavities.
Connective tissue is found in the tendons and ligaments as well as the fibrous membrane coverings. For muscular tissue, the skeletal muscle is found in muscles attached to bones, and smooth muscle is found in internal organs.
Skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle are striated, while cardiac and smooth muscle are involuntary. Skeletal muscle fibers are located in muscles attached to the skeleton.
The nervous tissue is located in the peripheral nerves of the body the organs of the central nervous system, brain and spinal cord.
3. Explain how the cells that make up various types of tissues are specialized to perform their functions. 
Most epithelial cells have cell junctions where the cells are closely packed and held tight together .The stratified epithelium has various layers of cells that protects the underling tissues.
Macrophages, Mast cells and Plasma cells are connective cells that help to imporve immunity.Adipocytes/ lipocytes are cells filled with a droplet of fat and are specialized to store fat.
Fibroblastsar are flat elnogatted cells andthe least specialized connective tissue cell, which synthesize extracellular matrix and collagen, which help in wound helaing
Cells in the muscular tissue are specialized to contract and produces most many of the body movement they are elongated, providing a long axis for contraction
