4325 Treatment Plan
According to the diagnostic results, a specified treatment plan is required to ensure affected clients are handled. Clients require an individualized treatment strategy for their recovery process to be effective. Medical psychologists have incorporated the use of the nine elements plan of Laban (1997) to achieve anticipated results. The treatment plan covers all the necessary information for the potential client to formulate a strong background. Further, the plan states the roles of both the patient and the examiner throughout the treatment period. Thus, understanding Laban’s 9 elements of handling are essential in developing Frank Gallagher’s treatment plan.
Type of Plan
Frank Gallagher is an alcohol addict from the series Shameless. He lives in Chicago with his children but was recently evicted by his eldest daughter. Moreover, he has a series of failed relationships because of his alcoholism.
The client goes through a comprehensive DSM-5 that meets three major criteria. Frank uses the substance repeatedly despite the danger, has cravings and the urge to drink, and is unable to be productive at home due to substance use.
Problem List
According to DSM-5 criteria, Frank is in a severe condition since he shows more than 6 symptoms. He shows all the symptoms from the DSM-5 questions answered in the diagnostic process. After close examination, it is established that Frank has a destructive drinking pattern that is detrimental both to himself and the people around him. Besides, he reports symptoms such as sleeping troubles, sweating, and trembling, among others.
