The methods presented by the two groups are focus groups and interviews that were used in collecting different sets of data. The interviews were used to collect media and public relations data, while the focus groups collected data on communication in the healthcare sector. Although the two methods were used in different settings, each has its advantages and disadvantages over the other.
Unlike interviews, focus groups are conducted in an open environment where the participants openly discuss the topic as the coordinator asks the questions. In this case, the participants can express themselves freely, and any disagreements are noted and mediated through counterarguments (Shwab, 2016).
