Zarcadoolas et al.’s (2011) “Health Literacy at Work to Address Overweight and Obesity in Adults: The Development of the Obesity Action Kit” focuses on how an ecological model can be applied to understand more about obesity and overweight. Obesity and overweight affect about 31.7% of children aged between 2 and 19 years and 68% of adults in the United States of America (USA) (Zarcadoolas et al., 2011). The paper emphasizes the communication research method and critiques the quality of the sample used in Zarcadoolas et al.’s article.
In lecture two, it was clear that quantitative research is scientific-based and involves identifying variables and numbers. In contrast, qualitative research entails the general understanding of things in the world and is experience-driven (Lecture 2, 2022).
