Epic Games' development stack has managed to penetrate segments that most industry experts did not expect. While the video game industry promotes competition among developers and publishers, consumers continue to benefit from diverse and compelling offerings from incumbents and independent developers. Fortnite, a popular video game released on July 25, 2017, has become one of the most popular games ever. Since November 2018, Fortnite has had over 350 million players, making it one of the biggest gaming empires (Dustin, 2020). It was created by Darren Sugg, who is employed at Epic Games.
Fortnite is available on various platforms, including PS4, PC, Android, Xbox One, Samsung, IOS, and Nintendo Switch. According to critics, it is one of the most addicting video games available on the market right now. The intended audience of Fortnite is all the young players are aged between 10-30 years. Thus, it mainly targeted the youngsters. Fortnite is also completely free, which means that virtually everyone can participate. To reach a wide and varied audience, it has used a combination of compulsive gameplay, media/technological convergence, and marketing. It appeals to a younger audience because of the unrealistic brutality and cartoon-style graphics and the emphasis on construction rather than killing.
Fortnite has become a hit. It's a shooting game with 99 other players. After that, Fortnite Battle Royal was released; it was based on Save the World of Fortnite. In the game of Fortnite, 100 people compete against each other. Fortnite has various game modes, such as Squads, Does, Playground, Solo, and 50v50. Can use V-bucks to purchase multiple skins, pickaxes, gliders, and dance movements in Fortnite. The game follows a storyline while also adding fresh content to the map. This game is trying to add new firearms and items, such as the negative gravity cube's golf carts. It is the most successful game, and youth loves to play it. Epic Games, the firm behind Fortnite, discovered that "the average Fortnite user spends between six and ten hours each week playing the game" (Scribner, 2018). When asked how many hours they play per week, 7.7% of 1,000 frequent Fortnite users reported playing more than 21 hours per week. Fortnite users play for more than 21 hours or about 15.4 million players.
