Justin Thompson was faced with a situation wherein she was placed between the concept of speaking the truth or not talking at all to conform with society’s standards. He was faced with an issue wherein he could promote positive work ethics as well as not telling the truth due to conforming to seniority. Justin is an excelling student within his peers who happened to be very happy for securing a job in one of the most prestigious companies in his area as well as having a schedule and environment that fits his wants and needs.
Justin worked hard and attempted to excel from beginning and during his tenure in Kingston’s department store. He went through all the training sessions: watching a company video watching Kingston’s history, current operations, ethics policy and customer service philosophy. He even met with the staff to fulfill paperwork and learned the rest of the procedures he needed for his retail job.
Thompson, along with his unnamed peers, commenced their formal work. He took this time to watch the senior employees cater to the needs of each customer through helping them and ringing up the sale. Though, there were some noticeable issues that the HR failed to mention and these involved some employees answering personal calls which is a no-no for any company, especially when they are on duty or cleaning up after the customers’ mess like in the dressing rooms or failure to restock items which renders customers to optimally choose a suitable product.
Other issues he faced includes him working alone during slower days and had to clean up the mess by the morning shift. He decided to inform some of his colleagues about this but instead, told him to not be a tattletale due to him only being a high school student and decided to use their status as full fledged adults by calling him a “pseudo-employee” s...
