Native American Mascots and Names on Sports Teams

Assignment: Should sports teams and school mascots appropriate names, titles, and images of Native American peoples? (Do you think it's appropriate to use Native American mascots or names for any sports? Why or why or not) Explain your answer. Think about for football of how they took the Indian off one of the teams because everyone felt that it was discriminatory. Also, think about how they took the Indian off of the butter because they felt it was discriminatory. Basically just explain how you feel towards the topic. Do you think its ok to use Native Americans as mascots even though in United States history they were massacered by the colonizers?
