Term Paper Instructions:

The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate the course learning outcome for competency frameworks.
This is a group assignment worth 5% of your grade. Refer to the grading rubric.
I have asked you to collaborate in groups for the major course project. Everyone in your group must be contributing and working cohesively together. How do you clearly identify necessary behaviours to successfully complete this project, and how do you provide feedback to each other?
Behaviourally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS) are used to identify and assess behaviours necessary to carry out a job. In this case, the ‘job’ is your team project and how you work together. BARS will help to identify and assess desired as well as undesirable behaviours.
Instructions:
Create three competencies that your group believes are essential expectations of students in completing your Team Project.
Write the name and description for each competency and identify up to three critical behavioural indicators that fall under Developing, Meets Expectations and Exceeds Expectations. In total, you will write nine statements for each of the three competencies.
Create a competency framework similar to the example below using BARS to measure each competency. Refer to page 143 of the textbook (4th edition) as well as the example below.
Example
Competency: Critical Thinking: Members of the group reflect on their thinking to improve it. They challenge assumptions behind their own thoughts, beliefs or actions. They seek feedback and demonstrate open-mindedness.

2 Meets expectations: The user is open to other people's views, practices active listening, suspends judgment, is careful with their comments, but is somewhat defensive when discussing complex subjects.
3 Exceeds: User is unassuming, encourages divergent thoughts, practices emphatic listening, is aware of themselves and how their comments may affect others, uses logic and objective criteria to reach an agreement, is respectful of other people's opinions, as well as welcomes difficult conversations.
