National origin discrimination is a favoritism which involves handling people or workers unsympathetically because they are from a certain country or his or her ancestors are from a certain part of the world, because of ethnicity or intonation, or because they appear to be of a particular genetic background. National origin discrimination also can entail serving people unsympathetically because the people they are related with a person of a certain national origin or language characteristics of an ethic group. Also, national origin discrimination would also occur by treating employees adversely they are from a particular community or belong to a common language or ancestry.
In accordance to the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) it highly forbids managers from prejudicing people because of their citizenship. It further forbids managers from requiring more or incompatible documents than for the purpose of validating employment eligibility, or declining to honor apparently actual documents.
However, when it comes to the matter of citizenship, there are a few exceptions that are not considered. For example, the aliens the do not apply for naturalization within six months which they are able to IRCA does not apply. Also, does not apply when the alien fails to be endenized within two years of applying, and the time taken by the government to process the application is not included. If the alien fails to be naturalized within two years, that person must be prepared to show that he or she is working towards naturalization.
Study has shown that people from the same gender also discriminate each other on different basis. According to Sanchez (2010) discrimination can also be between same ethnic group who varies in communication, others political differences. For instance the people who immigrated to America, the Mexico-American view those immigrating recently as negative stereotype and they compete for jobs, promotions and wages.

The Act VII of the EOCC says that an employer should not treat an applicant or employee less favorably based on who they are associated with someone of a particular origin.
Employment discrimination also results when an employer regards an individual less favorably because he or she does not belong to a certain race. For example, a white individual rejects to give job to a Latino or a person from a different country would be prejudicing on the ground of national origin. However, biasing based on the feeling or assumption that a person (or his or her predecessors) belongs to a certain national origin group can be prejudicing, regardless of whether the person is in fact part of that group.
