Female Goddess in Hindu
Hindu text shows that women in this community are considered inferior to men in practice but they are equal to men in the Hindu scriptures. Unlike other communities in the world, the above situation occurred because of socioeconomic conditions that are exhibited in India. Observers, however, claim that Hinduism is responsible but the claim is controversial. Ancient times saw women in the Hindu community enjoy better status in the community than their male counterparts. There existed no restriction to education, Sati or child marriage, however, the condition for women changed with the invasions of foreigners who use rape against the Hindus. Despite having enjoyed superiority among the men the Hindu community is observed to worship the goddess like the Durga, Parvati, Saraswati, and Lakshmi among other deities. There are conflicting opinions about the Hindu woman position as in some text they are reduced to low roles of being housewives, to obedient daughters while in others they are given feminine leadership role including being ranked as a top goddess.
In Hindu goddesses, for example, Parvati and other deities were worshiped. Devi which means goddess or Deva in masculine form- Devi means the feminine while Deva is for the masculine, it represented the heavenly divine and showed the difference between the gendered gods that were in existence in the Hindu society.
