Brief Overview:
KION Group is a global material handling Equipment Company based in Germany. Forklift trucks and warehouse automation equipment are the company's main products. KION Group needs to prepare for the prevailing computer incidents of today and tomorrow. An organization can assist in developing a computer incident response team (CIRT) plan for a number of computer-based safety incidents.
This assignment will discuss a CIRT plan, which is often used as a contingency plan for the KION Group. A system administrator noticed yesterday that several of the file servers at HQ were responding very slowly. The KION Group headquarters (HQ) handles all incidents so that the plan will have its roots at HQ.
Like the latest IBM Threat Intelligence Index, read a recent article to gather information on current threats and remember to leverage the BCP and DRP you generated for the organization last week.

The Importance of a Contingency Plan Analysis Paper
Purpose and Primary Elements of a CIRT Plan
In modern society, owing to the increased technological advancement and wide internet coverage, computer systems have been augmented. With this increased use comes the associated risk of cyberattacks and other functionality-related challenges for the computer operating systems such as file servers. Therefore, every organization, as with the case of KION Group, is increasingly subjected to a heightened prevalence of computer incidents not only today but also in the future. As a result, promoting computer-based safety has been imperative. One of the vital elements for achieving this goal is the establishment of a computer incident response teams (CIRTs) plan. The CIRTs are trained and well-equipped with suitable expertise and knowledge. A CIRT plan usually guides the actions of these teams. Therefore, the primary purpose of a CIRT plan as a contingency strategy is to help organizations prepare for incidents and mitigate any potential damages. A CIRT plan chiefly intends to help reduce the damages that might result from attacks to or malfunctioning computer systems (Clark 133). Based on this understanding, a CIRT Plan clarifies each member’s distinctive roles and responsibilities in an incident of attack or faulty designs. The plan also provides the policy statements related to computer incidents, such as if the CIRT members are allowed to attack back and the person authorized to initiate this counterattack (Clark 135). These activities are important in improving the general cybersecurity system.
The main elements of a CIRT plan thus include identification of and response to incidents, necessary resources, duties and responsibilities of members and analysts, detection of threats and their associated analysis, containment or eradication of threats to promote the recovery process, and incident communications, and activities of retrospection. Identification and first response play an important role in establishing the appropriate agreement and measures on effectively recognizing and suitably determining whether to activate the contingency plan and the authority to invoke it. The resources required as “go kits” to make the CIRT plan a success, including spare cables, chargers, notepads, and contact cards, are available as well at the hosting office or remote office. Roles and responsibilities provide the prior definition of the duties to be executed by the CIRT member in the event of a crisis (Kral 12). Detection and analysis document how the incident is defined through the procedures for reporting, investigating, and containing an imminent or occurred threat. Containment, eradication, and recovery outline the strategies for limiting the scope and severity of the incident and regaining the normal operations of the affected computer systems. Incident communications details how the response team sends and receives notifications. Retrospective focuses on preventing the future reoccurrence of a similar incident by implementing necessary changes (Kral 14). These elements of the CIRT plan significantly improve the safety of computing systems and effective respons...
