Argumentative Research Paper
The two main drinking levels of alcohol are heavy alcohol consumption and light alcohol consumption. The light drinking of alcohol provides many health advantages to the clients. On the other hand, heavy drinking has a lot of consequences. Therefore, heavy consumption has a bad effect on institutions that include family, education, and careers. Because of this reason, consumers should avoid taking too much alcohol to save such institutions.
Therefore, governments should come up with strict rules concerning the use of alcohol. This is because, even if some individuals can check on their alcohol intake levels, it is hard for most of the citizens to restrain their consumption to the generally conventional levels. Hence, the liquor ends up controlling the lives of such people.
Increase Taxes on Alcohol
A lot of alcohol consumption leads to alcohol abuse, which has an effect on the health of individuals. The heavy alcohol use results in the high trauma risks and early death rates. Examples of the trauma include injury and blisters.
The government should, therefore, increase taxes on alcohol to make it not affordable to the people. This would discourage alcohol consumption. According to Sacks et al., increased taxes lead to harmful alcohol, making the intake to go down. The price is essentially a lot of people who have a small amount of income. The group includes the youths and unemployed that are the most susceptible to drinking habits.
In addition, taxes lead to the costly production of alcohol, hence result in a reduction of supply that leads to the price going up.
When the price of alcohol goes up, the quantity that customers demand reduces. When the price increases and demand quantity reduces, the youths and the unemployed suffer because their income is low. Hence, increasing the price of the alcoholic beverage will result in a very high reduction in the amount of alcohol that the youths and the unemployed demand. Therefore, the tax increase is an efficient way of reducing the intake of alcohol for the two groups of individuals.
Equip the Police with Appropriate Gadgets to Reduce Alcohol
The lasting impact of drinking alcohol includes the highly damaging effects in circumstances where there is the long-term abuse of alcohol. The health effects that are related to heavy use of alcohol comprise a bigger risk of alcoholic liver ailment, alcoholism, and cancer. Furthermore, injuries to both the central and peripheral nervous systems can happen due to long-term abuse of alcohol. The chronic consumption of alcohol can damage almost every body organ and system. An example is the brains of the youths that are developing, hence, susceptible to the poisonous alcohol impacts. Furthermore, the brain of the fetus that is also developing is vulnerable. If expectant moms drink alcohol, the unborn child might experience fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).
Because of the lasting impacts of drinking alcohol, the government should equip the police with gadgets that the drunkards should breathe to know those who drink in excess. The breathalyzers are important. The police should then have patrols to get the drunkards and put the ones drinking in excess...
