Research Paper Topic:
IMPORTANT: Please READ the following before you proceed:
The topic for the final draft must be the same as the topic in the Research Paper Proposal. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The research paper project is worth 15% of your grade. The research essay is worth 100 points of that grade. You should put your BEST EFFORT into the final draft.
Your teacher can only give you minimal feedback on the final draft because she needs to to submit grades ASAP. It is up to you to seek help from a tutor before you submit the final draft. A good approach would be meeting with a tutor two or more times: one time for content and another time for MLA and grammar. You can also book a 30-minute appointment with professor Rae.
PLAGIARISM: A plagiarized paper receives a zero with NO chance of a rewrite. NO EXCEPTIONS. You should check that you documented sources carefully before you submit the final draft. Documentation & Research
You will need a minimum of four (5) sources listed on your Works Cited page, and those same sources must be used in the body of the paper. NOTE: The sources you choose should be current. You should use the same sources you listed on the Annotated Bibliography.
Varying Sources: Sources should be varied. In other words, do not use all books, all magazines, all journals, etc. You should use a combination of books, articles, and internet sources. You may lose up to 5 points if you do not have a variety of sources. You can view electronic books and materials through the ELAC Library, although not every book has an electronic version
Paper Specifics
-The final research paper must be 1,250-1,750 words (5-7 pages typed) (minimum 5 full pages for the essay plus 1 page for the Works Cited page). Typically, the page requirement for an English 103 research paper is 8-10 pages. However, I am cutting the class some slack considering the amount of time you have to work on this project is limited. Considering this, please note that the 5 full pages minimum (full pages) is firm. Assignments that fall below the minimum page requirement will 10% deduction of the grade for each missing page.
Essay Evaluation: The final essay is worth 100 points. The breakdown of the grade is:
-Structure and Organization (60%). The essay has 3 parts:
Introduction: The paper begins with a discussion of your topic that leads to a strong, on-topic argumentative thesis statement. You can reference one research source in the intro, but this is not required.
Body: Each body paragraph begins with a topic sentence that connects back to the thesis. The writer uses research and a synthesis of sources to support assertions related to the thesis. Other requirements:
-The writer must demonstrate the use of rhetorical appeals in the essay. Professor Rae's lecture on how to include rhetorical appeals in your own writing is a helpful review of this.
-Counterargument & Rebuttal: 1-2 body paragraphs must present a counterargument and a rebuttal to the counterargument. You must cite at least one source that supports the counterargument.
Conclusion: The conclusion restates the thesis and offers a closing reflection on the researched topic.
MLA Style and Formatting (30%): The writer accurately uses of MLA style and formatting. This includes citation usage and style, use of transitions and signal phrases to introduce sources, paper format (typed, double space, paragraphs indented), and a Works Cited reference page.
Grammar & Mechanics (10%): The essay should free of grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistake, with little or no errors in run-ons, fragments, subject-verb agreement, parallelism.
-The rubric for the assignment will be attached to the assignment. Your teacher will use this rubric to grade the final draft. Review the rubric carefully before you submit the final draft!
PLAGIARISM: A plagiarized paper will receive an automatic zero (0 points) in all categories with NO CHANCE for a rewrite. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you cite sources and give credit for any borrowed text. Once you submit the paper, you should check the originality report generated by Turnitin.com and fix any areas that are flagged plagiarism.

Anxiety among Adults
While the world population continues facing different health challenges, most countries have remained steadfast in improving their citizens' health standards. Frequently, it is challenging to achieve this critical goal. However, availing adequate resources in research has emerged as an indispensable strategy even as they commit to finding solutions. Indeed, the adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) improves various life pillars, including health. There are specific illnesses that people underrate because their symptoms hardly present in more explicit ways. For instance, anxiety has become a severe mental disorder, especially among adults. Often, most people fail to realize how severe the condition is on other individuals until its impacts are more glaring and easily noticeable through particular actions. The Anxiety and Depression Association notes that social phobia, a psychiatric disorder, affects 18.1% of Americans yearly. Notably, a significant concentration focuses on young people, sidelining adults who face many challenges every day. Hence, as a pertinent health issue among adults, anxiety, which is of various types and is triggered differently, needs attention by focusing on the obstacles they face from time to time and providing practical solutions that alleviate their wellbeing.
Types of anxiety and their triggers
The most common types of anxiety include; social anxiety, panic disorder, specific phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). These forms are caused and triggered differently. Frequently, it is evoked when someone faces a situation that requires them to do what they are unfamiliar like meeting new people, holding a small talk, which makes them the center of attention among other people. It is against the backdrop of these triggers that Havasy cites academic anxiety, which occurs among students who fear participating in class because they may fail to answer questions correctly.
Besides, specific phobias relate to a person's fear of particular situations and objects, which prompt them to avoid things that expose them to such circumstances. Often, it is triggered by the sight of scenarios that evoke the said fear. For example, some people have a phobia n height, making them avoid using elevators when they visit tall buildings. An individual experiences an overwhelming and intense panic disorder attack, with specific physical symptoms, and characterizes some people's mistake for heart attack. Consistent studies show that persistent panic attack develops into a full-blown panic disorder (Sellers). According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, 6 million adults, translating to 2.7% of the American population, are affected by panic disorder. Notably, twice as many women as women suffer from the illness.
