Find an online interview that you can watch, or listen to, and eventually analyze. Tell me what type of interview it is, when it was conducted, who the interviewer is, who the interviewee is, the purpose of the interview, and where you found it on the Internet (the URL).
Your interview topic will be submitted to me as a separate assignment prior to completion of your interview analysis.
The interview analysis paper will be a 4-5 page paper that you will upload into the designated assignment dropbox by the due date. The interview analysis is worth 100 points. The interview analysis is a paper that should have a clear intro, body, and conclusion, and provide the who, what, when, where, why and how of the interview you analyzed. The who, what, when, where, why and how must demonstrate your understanding of effective professional communication and interviewing skills on both the part of the interviewer and interviewee. To demonstrate your understanding of the principles of effective communication and interviewing (nonverbal aspects of communication are relevant to the success of an interview as well), you will need to incorporate outside research and concepts of effective interviewing to use as a foundation for discussing both sides of the interview. Each paper will differ in content based on your approach to the assignment and what type of interview you are analyzing. Consider what are the most interesting and important aspects of the interview you watched and share those elements. Describe them in detail and share why they were effective, or if not, what would make them more effective. You can focus on the interviewer, interviewee, or a combination of both in your analysis.
Your paper should have a thesis that is relevant to the principles of interviewing and be paragraphed to distinguish main ideas from supporting ideas (definitions, examples, statistics, comparisons, etc.). You must discuss the following in your 4-5 page paper.

Essentially, you will demonstrate your understanding of effective communication in this analysis using interviewing of any type as a foundation for the discussion.
Do not make the mistake of addressing the content of the interview. I am interested in how you use the content of the interview to demonstrate your understanding of the principles of effective professional communication and interviewing. Interviews are defined as conversations with a specific purpose, especially if someone or a company needs some clarification about a topic or feedback. In today's world, whenever someone is watching television news or reading a newspaper, there is always one common aspect, no matter what topic is being discussed. The common element is that all the stories contain interviews. Therefore, for an interviewer to achieve the primary purpose of the interview, they must follow guidelines that will help them do better discussions and get answers from the interviewees comfortably. This paper analyzes the interview of author Kaitlyn Tiffany as she speaks with NPR guest host B.A. Parker about the pivotal role "Fan Girls" have played in shaping the internet and pop culture as we know it today.
Analysis
The interview captures several important points in running or understanding an effective interview. It is a face-to-face interview and lasts for approximately 25 minutes. The interviewer is B.A. Parker a guest host from NPR, and the interviewee is Kaitlyn Tiffany, a culture reporter. The interview was in June 2022. The conversation mainly revolved around how the internet revolutionized fandom and the impact on celebrities. There is also a great talk on how culture, in general, has been gradually changing due to the public's changing perceptions concerning the internet culture.
Interviewing people is a skill that some individuals possess naturally, while others try to master it by learning (McLean, 2010). In this interview, Parker seems natural in the interviewer's role, making the interview flow quite effortlessly. The first step of a successful interview is ensuring a structure that focuses on the type of results the interviewer wishes to achieve. The design can be formally structured, loosely structured, or without form (Powell, Stanley & Brown, 2018). After deciding which structure to use during the interview, the interviewer is supposed to choose the type of interview to conduct. The interview started rather directly, with the host going straight to the point and stating the essence of the interview by giving examples of the opinion and the music therein. This sets the tone for the entire interview.
Parker also seems to have done quite some research on the topic. This is quite a key feature of ensuring that the interview becomes successful; the interviewer needs to research the topic of discussion to gather information since it is their job to be an expert at what they do. Researching the interviewee's background and culture is also essential as it helps the interviewer phrase questions without offending or making them uncomfortable (Horning et al., 2022). For example, in the interview, Parker ensures that she relates to the topic of pop and internet culture. This ensures that they form a point of relation with Tiffany by having something they can relate to. The interviewer also ensures that the interviewee is easy by giving her time to respond in detail and laughing. Simple laughter can be quite a comical relief and make one more settled in a given environment.
