The immune system is a core aspect that contributes to the body's normal functioning. Maintaining a sound immune system requires diverse factors, such as having healthy habits to avoid damage to the immune system and ensure the proper functioning of organs. Due to factors within and without the body, the immune system can be constrained to maintain its proper functioning. The diverse factors can compromise the normal working of the body organs. Therefore, maintaining a sound immune system should be deliberate and informed by proper behaviors. Failure to have a proper and sound immune system can lead to a malfunctioning of the body and severe sickness. The paper aims to point out the possible cause of immune disorders and their effect on general health.
Autoimmune disorders are a counter-attack of the body's protective tissue on its organs. The immune system is responsible for protecting the body from bacteria, viruses, and parasites that may affect the normal functioning of organs (Kohn and Donald 1045). However, the immune system may malfunction and launch an attack on the organs and tissues while it should protect against foreign pathogens. This causes poor health in the person as organ functioning is altered; the victim experiences abnormal functioning in the body. Notably, autoimmune disorder weakens organs and causes diseases that affect the body (Cleveland Clinic). There are serious infections that arise from the disorder, making organs malfunction due to protection failure and constant fight from the immune system.
Several autoimmune diseases have been diagnosed, which have led to severe defects and affect the normal health of victims. There are about 100 autoimmune diseases that arise due to the malfunctioning of the immune system. The prevalent diseases arising from immune system malfunction include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn's disease. This disease causes a significant alteration in body health by disrupting standard functionality (Kohn and Donald 1048). Notably, the disease causes joint and muscle problems experienced as inflammation of tissues affected by the autoimmune disorder.
The autoimmune disorder can affect any cells, tissue, or organ in the body. As organs are attacked, the body becomes susceptible to other conditions.
