Technical Requirements
Your paper must be at a minimum of 3 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).
Scholarly references should be used. A good rule of thumb is at least 2 scholarly sources per page of content.
Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.

Messing et al.’s (2020) article asserts that the confinement and inhuman handling of illegal immigrants constitute a well-established issue within the United States (U.S.) borders. There has been a paradigm shift in the incidence and handling of detained foreigners, particularly minors and pregnant women. With respect to the thesis statement, the authors use a reproductive justice model to demystify how recent policy changes are tailored to undermine the three core reproductive justice values: (a) the right to have a child, (b) the right to choose not to have a child, and (c) the right to bring up children in a secure and conducive environment (Messing et al., 2020). In this case, recent policies are deconstructed using the reproductive justice framework, including the illegalization of abortion for detained immigrant minors not accompanied by parents, disregard and mistreatment of detained pregnant women willing to carry on with their prenatal journey, as well as isolation and extended confinement of parents and their kids in inhuman environments. This paper summarizes Messing et al.’s (2020) article and critically evaluates its positive and negative points in order to establish if the authors achieved their intended goal. The final portion is the conclusion that summarizes the key points discussed in this essay.
