“Chinese People Do Business the Same Way Americans Do”
People, especially those from oversee countries believe that Chinese people perform their businesses the same way Americans do. However, although both Americans and Chinese deal with United States dollars, Chinese people are much different from Americans. Chinese people mainly focus more on enhancing healthy relationships while Americans are usually focused on executing numerous cash transactions. For instance, Americans are usually interested in walking in the business premise, figuring out a deal, signing a contract, executing the deal, and getting out (LaMarco, 2018). That said, the decisions made by Chinese business people are for the greater good of the community.
Tan (2015) further explains that American business people are usually upfront in their manner of communication. In many cases, they hurt the Chinese people who are usually more sensitive. For instance, American people have the freedom to defend their ideas, which in some cases can result in debate or confrontation, for the purposes of causing the other person to agree with their way of thinking (LaMarco, 2018). However, Chinese business people will only nod on other people’s opinions, even if they do not agree with their idea. In such, they honor and respect the other person’s opinions. They are not usually direct because...
