Abstract
The federal and state governments have been constantly struggling to match the revenues with that of expenditures. For this, they have implemented different strategies and often impose fines on people on the roads. In this research paper, we will discuss whether traffic tickets are issued based on one’s negligence or randomly. We will conduct a survey to collect feedback from different individuals regarding public safety concerns. In recent years, the number of road accidents has increased tremendously (Luca, 2014). Some people believe that traffic tickets are issued whenever someone creates a mess on the road, while the others claim that police officers disregard their integrity and keep issuing more and more tickets when there is a decline in revenues. It has been revealed that issuance of a lot of traffic tickets benefit the government as well as those police officers who issue these tickets, but it does not benefit the public in any way and instead contribute to the unemployment rate and increased housing prices (Garrett & Wagner, 2006).
Introduction
In Massachusetts, the tax percentage has increased from 2 percent to 6.25 percent. The same is the condition of other cities and states of the United States of America. It looks like the government has failed to create a balance between expenditures and revenues. Imposing fines on people going on the roads or asking them to pay enormous taxes can never be the solution to any problem. Given that homeowners have to pay more property tax, they do not hesitate to ask for a lot of money for a single property. Similarly, police officers have lost their integrity and issues bundles of traffic tickets to people going on the roads. In no way, it looks like the state and federal governments are concerned about the safety of people on the roads. Instead, they want to collect much money as revenues to meet their expenses (Luca, 2014).
Literature Review
According to Thomas A. Garrett and Gary Wanger, the recent economic downturn has been the result of fluctuating policies and rules and regulations. The state and federal governments impose many fines on people and attempt to find ways to increase the percentage of tax every month just because they have failed to keep a balance between revenues and expenditures. The rate of poverty has reached an alarming level due to these inappropriate rules and regulations. Money collected in the form of tax does not reach the poor and needy people. As a result, the number of their problems has increased tremendously. For example, the unemployment rate is higher than the previous year, and housing prices have grown tremendously ...
