Pretty Woman Movie Analysis
The movie Pretty Woman provides a creative narrative of controversial romantic experiences. It helps in understanding how society perceives an immoral lifestyle. It depicts the culture of hypocrisy where men who portray themselves as men of integrity and reputation look for women to satisfy their selfish cravings. In the movie, sinful life is considered usual, fun, and profitable. The producer and director of the film seem to be permissive, and he is out to make his audience believe that life cannot be complete without sex or romance. The events in the movie go against the popular culture that has high regard for values, morality, and decency. It is of the essence to analyze the film and find out why the producer propagates the use of erotic prowess to attract financial favors. The movie character, Vivian Ward, a self-proclaimed LA Street Walker finds a fortune in the sex trade. The moral choice made by the celebrated LA Street Walker to trade her body raises no concern with zero consequences for her actions.

The Paradox of Romance vs. Discrepancies in the Society
The movie reveals how a society can become corrupt by enhancing and embracing the culture of the impunity. In one of the scenes, a classless society emerges that engage in immoral activities, and there is no reprimand for their illicit actions, such as dealing and using illegal drugs. Corruption generally becomes relative and happens unnoticed since it becomes a typical lifestyle. From the movie story, a culture that turns a blind eye to the evil in the society emerges. It is shocking how the community seems not to be worried about young girls who engage in sexual activities and drugs. The older men who are supposed to be the custodian of the young girls are the perpetrators of sexual abuse and are the beneficiaries of the sex trade. For instance, the statement from Edward, a man whom the society respects “we screw people for money,” is quite disturbing. It portrays how the deep decay in a society that tolerates a decadent and a reckless culture.
Money Culture and the Decay in the Society
The illicit activities that take place in the movie are easily wiped away by the influence of money. The culture of materialism that most of the studies find to be influencing prostitution is given a central theme in the story since it seems most of the characters can do anything for money (Schouwenburg, 2015). The culture is the basis for which commercial sex thrives. Vivian, the prostitute in the movie, is not interested in a stable relationship. So long as there is money, she does not care about the class or reputation of the person she has a casual sexual relationship. The decay in society seems to be influenced by the craving for money. The portrayal of women as weaker beings that rely on men for money in exchange for their bodies is evident in the movie. Despite these portrayals of women as immoral, there is strong evidence of the degeneration of moral relativism in the entire society. From most of the scenes in the movie, it is apparent that most of the characters, men and women, are whores. The fascination of sex and money controls the society, and even the most tal...
