Research Paper Instructions:

Assignment Sheet: Research Paper (1200-1500 words)
Text:
 All relevant texts you have read throughout the quarter
Task:
 Based on readings and previous assignments, write a research paper that presents findings in response to your research question. Revise and incorporate parts of previous assignments as components for your paper, and add original writing to craft a coherent and academic paper. Clearly introduce your research question and state your thesis. Define key terms and concepts if necessary. Present the findings of your research, analyze them, and develop your own argument based upon your findings. Clearly show how your research informs your argument and how your analysis/argument contributes to the existing research. When you finish your paper, revise and edit it carefully. Draw on campus resources such as the Writing Center for assistance.
Learning Objectives
 Structure and outline your paper in a clear, logical and convincing way.
 Analyze your research findings and organize them in a clear and meaningful way.
 Integrate sources effectively by paraphrasing, summarizing, synthesizing, or directly quoting.
 Revise and incorporate previously completed small writing tasks into the final paper
 Accurate in-text citations and reference list
Grading Criteria
 Clearly stated, supported, and developed thesis
 The ability to follow writing and formatting conventions in your discipline
 Depth of analysis and evaluation of texts
 Effective incorporation of sources into writing by using paraphrasing, summarizing, synthesizing and quoting
 Ability to express complex ideas in polished and well-edited academic language
 Possible grammar points: academic and concise writing style, connecting words and transitional phrases, reporting verbs, verb tense, clauses and complex sentence structures, hedging, etc.

Robotics in Healthcare
Introduction
Robots have existed for a long time but were not engaged in active healthcare provision. Unlike the robots developed in the past that carried out dangerous, dull, and dirty tasks, today's healthcare robots are unique. Robots are now common in medical tasks, such as directly interacting with patients in rehabilitation centers and surgical theaters. Technology advances have led to many improvements that stimulate new treatments for different disorders and diseases. Robots have proven effective in delivering occupational and physical therapy in rehabilitation centers (Sikdar et al., 2021). Tele-robotic systems have already been adopted to perform complex surgery operations with the help of a surgeon.
Robots have become polar due to the increasing technological innovations. The spectrum of robotic innovations in healthcare and medicine, thus, involves a wide array of environments, from user populations, either old or young, and other operating conditions such as in an operating room or at home. Updating current orthopedic medical procedures to have fewer side effects and not invasive would improve workers' productivity and faster recovery times for patients with eye problems. The development of medical robots is due to the need to enhance the effectiveness of medical procedures (Sikdar et al., 2021). The current robots are under the control of a human operator who manipulates an input device which the robot is on the patient's side. Sometimes the operator can be miles away, making it easier for specialists to conduct medical procedures even if they are not in the exact geographic location with the patient. The robot allows surgeons to have better dexterity to handle complex cases such as an operation that needs motion in tiny spaces. The research paper aims to outline some of the major technical achievements and capabilities that robots have, which support the well-being and health of human beings.
Research Findings
Robotic surgery reduces radiation exposure and is more accurate in orthopedic placement. Scholars have done extensive research on the use of robots for surgery and other clinical operations. Most past research indicates a positive reception of robotic use in healthcare. Wu et al. (2019) note that robots in surgical operations help reduce the risk of radiation exposure besides being the best for orthopedic operations. The surgical procedures involve the use of several machines that emit radiation. This radiation is harmful to human beings' bodies. Surgeons spend most of their time in the operating rooms meaning they get small doses of radiation over the time they practice their profession. This is dangerous for their health. Robots help reduce this exposure because they do not get affected by the radiation, protecting human practitioners and patients.
Robotic procedures have a better prognosis than freehand surgery, with less postoperative pain and bruising. Wu et al. (2019) also note that robots are best for orthopedic operations contributing to their rapid adoption for similar functions. According to these aut...
