Cherry X Disease Symptoms
Although Cherry X disease symptoms may have little variances depending on the host, most of the symptoms are generally similar. The following are some of the symptoms of cherry x disease. First, the fruits produced are way smaller than they would typically be. In addition to being relatively smaller, the skin of these fruits may appear to have a leathery complexion. Secondly, fruits appear to have faded color. This symptom is most common during the harvesting period. Thirdly, branches tend to lose their leaves with time. Unlike in healthy conditions, the leaves of a host with this disease are usually smaller than expected.
Additionally, it is not uncommon for the symptom of smaller leaves to be observed in one branch before spreading to other branches. Symptoms of cherry x disease are likely to be more prominent in grafted plants. The symptoms, in this case, include having fruits with a distinct set of characteristics. Within these ten days, the maturation process is derailed, causing the final fruit to have undesirable characteristics and to be commercially unviable.
During the expected maturation time, the fruits usually have attained the expected size but have an angular and pointed shape. In the last ten days of maturation, the disease interferes with the normal acid and sugar balance leading to a fruit that is undesirable and unpalatable. These symptoms appear to be uniform ac...
