Organizational Culture and How it Supports the Change

Research Paper Instructions:

n order to successfully implement a change within an organization, the change agent must assess the organization's culture and readiness for change. In 750-1,000 words, analyze the culture and level of readiness of the organization for which your evidence-based practice project is proposed. You will use the assessment of the organization's culture and readiness in the Topic 8 assignment, during which you will synthesize the various aspects of your project into a final paper detailing your evidence-based practice project proposal.
Include the following:
Describe the organization's culture and explain to what degree the culture supports change. Consider organizational and leadership structure, mission and values, interprofessional collaboration/team engagement, communication, perception of the organization by employees, etc.
Select an organizational readiness tool and assess the level or readiness for change within your organization. Identify the readiness tool and summarize the survey results. Discuss the degree to which the culture will support and sustain an evidence-based practice change. Consider strengths and weaknesses, potential barriers, stakeholder support, timing of the proposal, and resources. Provide rationale.
Discuss what health care process and systems you would recommend for improving quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness for the organization.
Propose strategies to better facilitate the readiness of the organization.
Identify the stakeholders and team members for the project. Include what their duties will be in the evidence-based practice project proposal.
Explain what information and communication technologies are needed for the implementation and how they will be integrated in the setting by the internal stakeholders. Explain how these will help improve nursing practice and care delivery for individuals and populations for your intervention.

Organizational Culture and How it Supports the Change
Prevention of stroke in organizations could involve individual-centered approach that could be feasibly attained with mobile technology – an inexpensive and simple screening for cardiovascular illness history as well as the presence of risk factors that could be modified (especially vaping and cigarette smoking, high blood pressure, and being obese). This mobile technology should be linked to a national, regional, or local electronic database for medical care. At the organizational level, culture significantly impacts the entity’s growth and welfare of the staff (Owolabi et al., 2021). The organization embraces a culture of teamwork, best performance, and collaboration. This culture supports implementing evidence-based practice (EBP) because it fosters effective communication and coordination to ensure employees’ welfare and positive health outcomes (Runtu et al., 2019). In addition, the culture of teamwork, collaboration, and optimal employee performance encourages the organization leaders to implement individual-based strategies to establish their risk of stroke and thus recommend the right way of life and programs to enhance their wellbeing.
The leadership structure encourages information sharing and collaboration to deliver high-quality health care and enhance individual and population outcomes. The organization’s mission and values are tailored to make client-service teams more efficient and open to innovative interventions to improve health outcomes. The quality teamwork and interprofessional collaboration within the organization encourage the safety and quality of health care delivery systems. The organization has also invested in information communication technologies to enhance information sharing during the implementation of the EBP (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2019). Lastly, the organizational employees have the right mindset, contributing to the acceptance of the EBP.
Organizational Readiness Tool and the Level of Preparedness for Change
Replicating Effective Programs (REP) framework is a tool for evaluating organizational readiness to implement and adopt heart health intervention. It can be used to facilitate the identification of different stakeholders, adaptable versus core elements of the EBP, and barriers to implementation (Ramsay et al., 2019). Survey results indicate that the organization is well-prepared to adapt the EBP to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. The organization has a proactive culture that supports and responds to EBP changes to enhance the wellbeing and welfare of the employees. This culture facilitates wellness in organizations, providing a feasible environment to translate scientific innovations and knowledge into individual or community wellbeing improvements (Adeoye et al., 2019).
A key strength worth noting is that the healthcare organization was prepared to implement the EBP. For instance, the leaders and managers allocated sufficient financial resources to ensure the effective implementation of the program. However, staff shortage is a potential weakness the organization needs to address to ensure the EBP is implemented effectively and efficiently. The organization would need to mobilize all...
