Additionally, visit the Hofstede Insights (Links to an external site.) website and continue to explore national cultural dimensions. It is difficult in some countries, if not outright banned, for men to work for women. Cultural differences like this complicate working outside one's culture.

Technology and International Communication
1. Introduction
Culture impacts global business and may hinder organizational performance and success. Cultural dimensions influence managerial decision-making. Hofstede’s cultural orientation model helps compare the cultural dimensions affecting the business processes in different countries (Hofstede, 2011). This paper aims to examine the similarities and differences in the culture of two countries, i.e., China and the United States while analyzing the issues in Hofstede’s cultural dimensions which may arise in an attempt to work together. The report will also explore the use of communication technology to foster communication between different cultures.
2. Discussion
2.1Similarities and Differences between the countries
China and United States are considered the two most influential nations in the world. The countries have more differences in several cultural dimensions than similarities. The comparison shows that the countries are primarily different regarding power distance, Individualism, long-term orientation, and indulgence (Hofstede Insights, 2022). On the other hand, the two cultures are somehow similar in two dimensions; masculinity and uncertainty avoidance.
2.1.1Power Distance
Power distance in China is ranked higher than in the United States. It is because inequalities among individuals are acceptable in Chinese society but lower in the United States as people are treated on an equal basis, and power is distributed equally among all the members of the society. Low power distance depicts fairness and impartiality.
2.1.2Individualism
China scores low in Individualism as it has a collectivist culture primarily and promotes group work and interests. The culture of interdependence is maintained within society and requires individuals to prefer personal relationships over work. American culture is highly individualistic, where individual interests and achievements are preferred over groups.
2.1.3Masculinity
In both China and United States, competition and accomplishments are the measures of success, making them a masculine society. The cultural preference is achievement over the quality of life. People are more motivated by success than their personal preferences.
2.1.4Uncertainty Avoidance
People in China are not accustomed to uncertainty and ambiguity, so they take control of their future to avoid any uncertain situation. Chinese society scores low in Uncertainty avoidance as compared to American culture. Americans are more likely to accept new ideas, technology, and changes than the Chinese.
2.1.5Long-term Orientation
The high score of China in this dimension shows that the culture has a pragmatic approach toward the future, which is to be achieved through modern education. American culture favours short-term achievements and goals over future gains.
2.1.6Indulgence
Indulgent society prioritizes leisure time, and socialization is restricted. China scores low in this dimension, where the community is driven by restrained culture. At the same time, American culture endorses...
