Topic: Compare the U.S. Health Care System with that of another country. Choose an OECD country and then compare it to the U.S. The paper should overview the health care system model or models used, and compare financing (cost), delivery systems (access) and outcomes (quality). The paper should describe costs, access and quality, and how values and/or ethics drive and/or impede, if any, the operation of their systems.
A description of the U.S. health care system using parameters that you will also use to compare your chosen country’s health care system. Support your description using current research or data (from literature) on the topic. Use at least 3 articles selected from recent (within the last five years) peer-reviewed journals or scientific publications (you may, in addition, select news articles from periodicals) (2 pages).

This paper examines the U. S, and Canadian healthcare system, then compares and contrasts. It will explore both the similarities and the differences that both countries exhibit in their system. The comparison will be drawing the differences that exists in terms of treatment, ease of access of healthcare services, medical insurance, the government regulations, the influence by private medical systems, among others. The USA is the country with an exemplary healthcare system in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The system incorporates the national health insurance, the Beveridge and the Bismarck models (Anderson, Hussey & Petrosyan, 2019). American veterans fall under the Beveridge model, where the government covers their medical expenses. Those above 65 years are on Medicare program, which falls under the national health care insurance model. According to Anderson, Hussey and Petrosyan (2019), employed Americans must secure private insurance healthcare coverage under the Bismarck model in which medical charges are funded by both the employer and the employee.
Among the OECD countries, the U.S. spends more on healthcare services. Medical financing comes from federal, state and local government. Also, private insurance and individual payments form a significant percentage of the funding of healthcare in the United States. Government healthcare financing under the Medicare and Medicaid programs only takes care of the elderly, disabled and some poor people. Thus, there is a significant difference between private and public insurance in terms of benefits coverage and financing to medical services providers. The public are at libery to choose the services they need. Their choices are influenced by their abilities to pay and maintain the premiums. The one advantage they have is the existence of several insurance providers in health, which increases competition and availa the services at even lower prices.
