Introduction
Infertility among males is a result of several conditions ranging from lifestyle choices, chronic illnesses, medication adverse effects, injuries, and other illnesses. These conditions result in abnormalities in sperm production, blockage in sperm delivery, and low sperm count. In the United States, more than 15% of couples have issues with conception, with half of these cases caused by male infertility (Tmrakar & Bastakoti, 2019). Using the given case study of the 60-year-old, this report will analyze it and answer questions related to factors that affect fertility, inflammatory markers rise in sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), why prostatitis and infection occur, causes of systemic reactions, why a patient needs a splenectomy after a diagnosis of Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), and discuss regarding anemia. 
Fertility and STDs
           Diagnoses of gonorrhea and chlamydia have been determined as the STDs with the highest risk factor for the development of infertility globally. Within the United States, the prevalence of chlamydia was around 4 million in 2018, while there were more than 1.5 million in 2019 (Kreisel et al., 2021). These STDs represent the most prevalent in the United States, where they are caused by gram-negative bacterial infections. The reason why these STDs are major etiologies for infertility, although they are easily manageable and treated, is their nature of having unnoticeable symptoms, especially among female patients. For instance, only a quarter of women with these STDs present with symptoms such as pelvic myalgia, dysmenorrhea, and other menstrual disorders. Men who engage with women with few noticeable symptoms and engage in unprotected sex are susceptible to contracting these STDs. Several infections of the disease, as well as going long without treatment, predisposes them to infertility in future. Chlamydia infections result in direct injury to sperm cells, reducing their motility, loss of viability, and peroxidation, which inevitably leads to infertility.
