Expected Outcomes for Evidence-Based Practice Project Proposal
By creating a structured, rigid approach to stroke prevention and management, coupled with specific guidelines for discharge instructions, follow-up appointment scheduling, and phone calls, it would be feasible to foster an established, effective and reliable process tailored to enhance patient follow-up and compliance with discharge instructions. The questionnaire is a valid data collection tool because it would capture data addressing the issues discussed in the capstone project. They are reliable because they likely generate stroke prevention outcomes in similar studies (Bhattacharya et al., 2017). The use of questionnaires is also applicable to quantitative research design because it enables the student to collect data from a large number of individuals. In addition, the questionnaire tool is reliable and relevant because it assists the researcher in quantifying the answers and facilitates the utilization of theoretical paradigms and rigorously designed measurement scales consistent with the quantitative research paradigm (Timmins, 2015). Questionnaires can measure quantitative and qualitative data, but it is more feasible for quantitative methodology.
Statistical Test for Project
The project would employ the t-test as the statistical test to compare the changes in stroke risk factors, such as weight, between the study group and the control group (Bevans, 2022). It would be used to test the hypothesis and establish whether stroke prevention interventions and education culminated in positive outcomes for the target population regarding risk factors, compliance with discharge instructions, and readmission rates.
