Background
The teaching topic is hypertension and its prevention. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a common condition that affects millions of people globally and is a significant risk factor for heart disease and stroke. The reason for choosing this topic is to educate individuals on the importance of taking preventive measures and making lifestyle changes to lower the risk of developing hypertension (Carey et al., 2018). The learners for this teaching program are adults with no prior knowledge of hypertension and its prevention. The anticipated challenges to teaching this topic include resistance to change, lack of engagement, and limited understanding of the subject matter.
Assessment of the Learner’s Motivation and Readiness to Learn
