There are websites that facilitate academic dishonesty and provide multiple ways for students to engage in unethical academic behavior. Conversely, there are tools that help students to properly complete work in a manner that is aligned with academic integrity. Additionally, there is an arsenal of tools that assist professors and organizations to verify the authenticity, validity, and academic rigor utilized in a paper. When a violation occurs, pejorative repercussions can occur.
In your paper,
Identify at least two repercussions for violations.
Describe how repercussions of academic dishonesty can affect one’s professional career.
Explain how a student can prevent academic dishonesty, thus preventing negative effects on one’s academic journey and professional career.

Technology has been a great addition to the world. New developments and innovative ideas through technology have helped enhance the state of the world. However, there have also been problems and challenges that have become apparent as a result of technology. In academia, technology has helped to water down the idea of originality, and the respect people had for other people’s work. Today, a significant number of students spend less time studying because of the availability of resources and materials they can use to do their assignments. Further, such traits pave the way for other habits that involve trying to bypass academic integrity by copying other people’s work. Most of these students are unaware of the repercussions of such actions and how such behavior can affect their professional careers. Therefore, provided herein is an elucidation of the repercussions of academic dishonesty, its impact on one’s professional career, and how students can prevent it.
There are numerous repercussions for violating ethical academic behavior. The first one is getting a failing grade in an assignment or for an entire class (Bachore, 2016). When a student decides to violate ethical academic behavior and is discovered, the obvious punishment they receive from school is a failing grade or getting failed the entire class. These punishments might seem light, but in the end, they have an effect on whether a student graduates high school or college.
Aside from the above, there is also the repercussion of getting suspended or expelled from an institution. In MIT, for example, students suspected of plagiarizing their work or receiving unauthorized help are likely to be suspended or even expelled from the institution. The MIT academic integrity handbook explicitly warns against any academic dishonesty and expects all students to adhere to the same (MIT, 2022).
