Community Visit Report Overview about Early On Centre Sandalwood Heartlake Name Course Date Overview of programs, services and key learnings The Early On Centre Sandalwood Heartlake provides free education and parenting services targeting the parents/caregivers (grandparent or primary caregiver) and the children up to 6 years. The centre also focuses on facilitating early learning and literacy education among the children brought to the centre and all the toys in the centre are disinfected. Additionally, there is information on parenting and family support/nutrition. There is also provision of information and referral to ensure that the parents and caregivers understand what is required (EarlyON Child and Family Centre, 2019). This is important as the children learn together in a welcoming and stimulating environment, which improves their wellbeing and development. Since the centre allows the children and parents/caregivers to be connected to the community, it plays an important role in facilitating learning and builds confidence parenting skills so that learning is appropriate and relevant. The learning environment has been created to support early learning and development so that the teachers engage in positive and meaningful experience and the parents access high quality services. Stakeholders There are various early years stakeholders to ensure that the wellbeing of the children is prioritized including the government, families/caregivers, educators, school boards and community partners. The government connects with the other key stakeholders in Ontario to integrate the early childhood programs and establish governance structure to implement early learning initiatives.
