Nomad’s competitors in the US
The United States tourism sector is made of business entities that engage in retail trade, transportation, lodging, and entertainment. In 2018, the travel and tourism sector contributed 7.8% of the country’s GDP while employed more than 13.6 million Americans (Aratuo & Etienne, 2019). If Nomad decides to seek a new market in the US, it will have to compete with firms such as nexTravel, TopDeck, TrekAmerica, Grand American Adventures, Extranomical Tours etc. Although these firms vary in their operations and composition, they have particular features that can be examined using SWOT.
Strength
1. Highly trained staff that originate from the country’s competitive education system
2. Bilingual speaking staff – employees in the US travel and tourism sector speak multiple languages such as English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Swahili.
3. Attractive tour packages. For instance, Grand American Adventure offers different kinds of tours ranging from generally large bus tours to small van tours inside the continental US and around the world.
4. Highly modernized operations and a strong social media presence that attracts heavy traffic
