4-2 Journal: Do You Embrace Change? Important components of the organizing facet of the P-O-L-C framework are organizational structure and culture. Change is inevitable in any company, and managers who understand how to manage change within their organizational structure and culture will be more successful with implementing and sustaining change. After you watch these videos, address the following questions and prompts in your journal entry based on your experience with organizational culture and change. Consider what you watched in the videos as well as what you have learned in the course up to this point. How does organizational culture impact the change process? Reflect on your experience dealing with change. Explain whether you are naturally open to change or whether you resist change. Based on your experience with change, explain how management helped or hindered the change process.

Change in an organization is a process whose implementation requires collaboration for all the employees and all sectors of the organization. The culture of the organization dictates how people relate with each other and the organization management at largeCITATION Mal09 \l 1033 (Mallinger, Goodwin, & O'hara, 2009). To manage change effectively every aspect and every sector of the organization that will be affected with the change should be included in the transformation process. An organization whose culture encourages communication from the employees to the management and vice versa are able to engage the employees in a smooth transformation process CITATION Kot02 \l 1033 (Kotter, 2002). Also the employees can present their dissatisfaction or how they think things should be done in a better manner to the management in order to improve the organization. Such a culture encourages teamwork which is an essential aspect in change management as change cannot be effected or managed by an individual.
