Indigenous Feminism is a book that has mainly addressed the issue of gender disparities and discrimination of indigenous women as a result of cultural and political practices. The author has put a lot of focus on women discrimination in most societies across the globe where indigenous women are considered inferior to men. This is evidenced by the fact that women have been denied their civil rights and sovereignty claims. The author states that there has been involvement of some issues in gender struggle that aims at creating equality for both genders. These include nationalism, cultural identity and decolonization (Dziedzic 32). Due to indigenous context, women in some societies are limited to some positions especially in political field. Enormous variations of circumstances among the indigenous women in different societies have made it quite impossible to have a single definition for feminism.
