This technological stratification has led to a new focus on ensuring better access for all. There are two forms of technological stratification.

Knowledge gap and E-readiness are forms of technology inequality like the digital divide. The knowledge gap is the increasing gap in information among those with less access to information. The lack of teacher training is part of the knowledge gap that implies that they lack the digital literacy skills to impart these skills to students and use them.
