Inventions and innovation have led to the emergence of new technologies applicable in many domains including agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, communication, medicine, education, entrepreneurship among others. Lack of access and opportunities in these areas are the major cause of poverty around the globe. The poor are deprived of the opportunities to realize their productivity and the ability to generate income, exposing them to extreme vulnerabilities to economic instabilities.
