Personal Reflection on Physical Fitness Journey
Physical activity is one of the primary interventions for various chronic conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular diseases. It also enables a person to remain physically fit. Since childhood, I have participated actively in physical activities, including sports. Nowadays, my exercise has taken a different approach as I no longer get actively involved in sports. My physical fitness journey has been successful, judging by my body weight, health and well-being, and ability to perform my daily activities smoothly. Reflecting on this journey will make me realize how exercise has played a significant role in my life.
My goal for the lifetime activities project was to improve my overall well-being by staying healthy physically and mentally, managing my weight, and improving my flexibility. As noted earlier, physical fitness reduces the risk of chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Being physically active also improves a person's brain health by reducing anxiety, depression and other associated conditions. Additionally, it enables an individual to lose weight and remain flexible, increasing their ability to perform daily activities comfortably.
To achieve my goal, I performed CrossFit training and jogging exercises. CrossFit is a workout that combines various movements, including Olympic lifting, gymnastics and cardio exercises to improve a person's conditioning and strength. CrossFit and jogging enabled me to develop strength faster because they are more intense. Within a few weeks, I gained more strength by jogging and doing CrossFit.
