Your assignment is to assume the role of explorer and scientist Alfred Wegener. After years of hard fieldwork and research, you are ready to present to the scientific community your hypothesis of continental drift. Write a one to two-page letter from Alfred Wegener to the Royal Geographic Society in London summarizing his a) research hypothesis, b) research methods of analysis, and c) research results supporting his hypothesis. In completing this assignment, you should review the types of research and data Wegener used to support his hypothesis. - You may use internet sources in order to acquire additional information from that in your text, but must provide references at the end of your letter.
Note: Your letter must be double-spaced in Calibri, Times New Roman or Arial 12-point font with one-inch margins.

While scientists have long suspected that the South American coastline was at one time conjoined to the western edge of Africa, I have managed to find sufficient proof to postulate that the continents were once joined into a single supercontinent (which I shall name Pangaea) (Prothero 196). I further hypothesize that this large mass of land split into smaller continents that floated away from each other over time into their current distribution.
I determined these facts through paleontological observation, wher...
