Question 1
MBTI stands for Myers-Briggs Personality Type. It is a self–report inventory used to identify a person’s strengths, personality, and preferences (McDonald & Edwards, 2007). MBTI contains several questions regarding a person’s traits, where one is supposed to choose the one that fits him most. MBTI was developed by a mother-and-daughter pair, Catherine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers (McDonald & Edwards, 2007). The test was valuable because I could identify my strengths and weaknesses. According to the test, one of my strengths is my knowledge. My personality is that I am a debater. Debaters seldom miss any opportunity to learn something new. Another strength is that I am a quick thinker. Being a quick thinker enables me to shift my mind from one idea to another effortlessly.
Another strength is that I am usually original. I like coming up with my ideas. Anytime I am faced with a problem, I always manage to find a way to solve them. Lastly, I am charismatic. My confidence, great mind, and quick thought attract many people. The test also enabled me to identify my weaknesses. According to the readings, one of my weaknesses is that I am very argumentative. I like debating with people to prove my point so we can be on the same page. Secondly, I am susceptible. I misjudge other people’s feelings a lot because of being so rational. Another weakness is that I am intolerant. I can easily dismiss an idea if not supported by rationality. The positive aspect of MBTI is that it helps one identify his/her strengths, make good use of them, and work to improve weaknesses. A negative aspect of MBTI is that it may discourage or lower a person’s morale.
Question 2
After watching the video, I can say that my feeling about high school courses was mixed. This is because some courses I liked while others gave me a hand time. For example, I got engaged in mathematics courses. I love mathematics, and this made me enjoy courses that involved some calculations in them. I was very bored with the geography course. I found the course very difficult to understand. Courses that were entertaining included literature, Algebra, statistics, and economics. Boring subjects were geography and world history, while engaging subjects were biology and chemistry. The following is a simple categorization of the high school courses.
Question 3
I feel that the explanation of Career Path and workplace habits by the MBTI was accurate for me because it helps one identify your strengths and weakness. One of the reasons why people violate wor...
