Gendered Histories of War and Peace
After a critical analysis of the two readings, it is crystal clear that the main point being portrayed is on gender equality and thus is the main argument here. The articles express how from the society of the past was regarding how it was governed and viewed. The evolution of the current state of the society is laid, how certain individuals stood firm to fight for women rights and against gender biasness. It is evident that as a result of these struggles, women were gradually liberated and they arose from being denied citizenship to voting and finally to being in power; women got the chance to engage in political and social development; and most importantly, women gained freedom and equality. Feminism and pacifism are sought.
From these two readings, it is agitating to learn of the inequality and power abuse that reigns in society. It’s also apparent that sometimes in society oppression and challenges arise which may be discriminatory. Therefore, by embracing unity, volunteerism of revolutionary leaders and channelling resources to a specific objective of bringing about change, goals can be attained.
