For centuries, the society has laid out gender prejudices that have divided the roles of the men and the womenright at the middle. In the twentieth century, there have been changes but they have not been enough. In reference to the premise of the two books, women in the society are associated with roles that rather considered safe and feminine. This means that there are roles in the society that are considered to be masculine and therefore for the men.Roles that relate to international policies and military services are considered the realm of the man. Ideally, these are dockets that require one to be brave, tough, independence, powerful and physically strong; at least according to social paradigms.Even for the women that have had experience, they are still treated as lacking of the characteristics that are required for the high stakes decisions and roles.
It is still surprising that even at this age we still have gender based roles across the globes where women are treated as the lesser human beings. Most of the national roles that are considered to be demanding tend to be given to the men. This is a paradigm that is spread throughout the society, from the small children to the voters and finally to the corporate arenas. Even where women make to the top of such positions, they are always second guessed. It is disturbing to note that there has not been any substantial evidence to indicate that women are unstable and would be affected by emotions given a chance to lead such positions. As such, it is a paradigm that is based on ill-informed male chauvinistic ideas passed along and are now outdated.
