Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand and manage your feelings as well as manage the other persons feelings. Emotional intelligence involves a person being able to recognize how other people feel, understand them and being able to relate well with them with an aim of achieving your goals. This paper will therefore seek to analyze the effects of emotional intelligence on work and personal relationship.
At working place emotional intelligence is very essential in creating a good and efficient team which works out effectively. However, without good communication between the workmates there cannot be a good connection leading to poor relation among workmates. Emotional intelligence the most vital requirement in any particular company (Wall 48).
In order to have effective emotional intelligence one should have the element of self awareness. This is one`s ability to know and understand their emotions and be in a position of managing them without getting out of control. In any working place one is required to know their weaknesses and strengths and have the self esteem to be able to work together with the colleagues in attaining their goals (Wall 48). Self regulation in emotion intelligence is very important because it is the ability of one`s knowing their feelings either towards the work or the colleague and controlling them to the best in order to gain a good relationship with workmates (Ryback 102). When one is able to control their feeling it becomes easy to understand someone feelings and it is easier to work together.
