Patient-centered care emphasizes the patient and the patient's medical needs. Patient-centered care aims to help people feel that they are in charge and engaged in their care. Patient-centered care requires health care providers to foster excellent communication to address the patient's needs efficiently and successfully. Patient-centered care also needs to empower the patients. The health care provider must ensure that the patients receive the proper treatment and care. Patient-centered care has been beneficial. It provides quality service to patients, adheres to major adjustments and treatment options, produces excellent results, and is cost-effective. (Ortiz, 2018).

Palliative care improves the standard of living for people suffering from severe illnesses by reducing the risk of developing symptoms and side effects of disease treatment. Palliative care aims to make individuals who suffer from serious illnesses feel more at ease. It restricts or cures disease, symptoms, and side effects. Palliative care also addresses different issues that are caused by illnesses. Both palliative care and hospice care provide ease to patients. However, palliative care starts during diagnosis and lasts throughout treatment, and hospice care begins when the disease is no longer curable, and the patient will no longer survive (Shalev et al., 2018). Acute care, on the other hand, refers to a type of healthcare in which a patient requires immediate but brief treatment. This treatment could be given in response to a severe episode of a chronic condition, trauma, or while recovering from surgery, among other things. Palliative care differs from acute care in the way that acute care is a treatment that must be done immediately.

Hospice care focuses on the care, solace, and quality of life of a person with a terminal disease who is approaching the end of life. It may become impossible to cure a terminal disease at some point, or a patient may refuse certain treatments. Hospice is intended for situations like this. The patient entering hospice care understands that his or her illness is not responding to medical attempts to cure or slow the progression of the disease (Shalev et al., 2018). Acute care is very different from hospice care. Acute care provides immediate and brief treatment, whereas hospice care is for patients who are nearing death.
