Objectively, adopting evidence-based practice (EBP) is a critical approach to providing professionals with methodologies and techniques to use appraised interventions. The EBP aims to improve and sustain adequate care quality that enhances desirable population outcomes. However, while EBP is considered a gold standard in care, organizations struggle to incept it for varying reasons.
One potential barrier hindering the EBP proposal from producing desired results is the lack of employees’ motivation to embrace the change. Healthcare workers' loss of interest, relevance and value in utilizing EBP procedures is a considerable hindrance from low training levels, inadequate skills, understaffing, and workload (Li et al., 2019). For organizations to implement EBP successfully among staff, there must be adequate support and effective supervision.
