Personal SWOT Analysis
SWOT analysis is a framework that is typically utilized in order to determine and evaluate the growth of one’s career. This framework is beneficial, especially in nursing practice.
Knowing my strengths is crucial as a vascular nurse. These strengths include having up to date knowledge concerning vascular diseases. As a vascular nurse, I can recognize efficiently the signs and symptoms of both arterial and venous disease presentations. I possess advanced nursing knowledge which I am able to apply to nurse practice. In addition to this, I also possess an expert level of knowledge and skills regarding the practice of wound assessment and management (Fitzgerald, 1998).
Likewise, knowing my weakness is also important to improve myself in this area. I consider having difficulty in time management as one of my weaknesses. Having trouble managing my time as well as prioritizing my responsibilities can result in work overload, stress, and diminished wellness. I also find it difficult to separate my personal feeling and emotions from work leading to distractions and unproductivity.
