Hazard can be defined as any source that can cause harm. It includes the workplace too.
Nine types of hazards can easily be found in the workplace. Following are
•Confined spaces
•Scents
•Indoor air quality
•Violence
•Temperature
•Weather
•Lasers
•Ventilation
•Working Alone
2. Include why they are considered hazards.
These workplace hazards can be explosive and can cause serious health injuries.
•Confined spaces are hazardous as any excess chemical exposure and poor air quality can be lethal there. Therefore extreme measures must be taken to avoid harm (Canadian centre for occupational health and safety, 2022).
•Scents include both odor and fragrance. The source can be chemicals, room fresheners/cleaners, or perfumes. These scents can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, lethargy, activate allergic reactions, and much more.
•Indoor air quality must be optimal with adequate ventilation to prevent waste gasses and poisonous vapour production. It can cause sinus blockage followed by sneezing, coughing, dryness of eyes/nose, severe throat infection, and many more to respiratory track.
•Violence is a much broader term and is not only limited to physical assault. Bullying, verbal abuse, threatening behaviour, and work harassment must be addressed and reported. So necessary measures can be taken.
•Temperature/ thermal balance has to be maintained as extreme temperatures can be dangerous to the human body. Body heat can be lost through radiation and conduction and can cause severe body reflexes followed by energy loss, shivering, and limited physical activity.
•Weather is the gift of nature that cannot be controlled or maintained; therefore, always be prepared for both hot and cold temperatures, as ignorance can be hazardous and life-threatening.
•Laser can be both beam and non-beam, and both types can be hazardous. The laser beam can cause skin and eye burns, whereas a non-beam laser can produce toxic fumes and gasses. Therefore, people working close to lasers must have proper protective gear, including eye ware.
•Ventilation allows fresh air entrance and provides an exit for toxic air. Proper ventilation prevents many air borne diseases.
•Working Alone can cause stress to both physical and mental health. Therefore it is essential to work with companions to avoid work-related injury.

•Installation of security cameras that cover every corner of the parking space as it prevents any unrequired activities.
•Lightening and ventilation should be considered as it increases visibility and reduces the hazard.
