Bryan Florentin at Wright Gallery, College Station
In the tour, Bryan Florentin displays salvaged materials and other everyday objects in construction. The use of salvaged materials and objects in construction creates a sense of the unfinished project. A viewer gets the sense that there is room for more advancement. At the same time, the approach creates authenticity where a viewer feels that the art is original and not manipulated in any way. Florentin's work gives a sense that a viewer is interacting with real materials that can be touched. Florentin also experiments with images that are reconstructed in sculpture installations. The approach brings out a feeling of connecting with the past as well as the future. The walls are infused with constructed photography, where Florentin takes common materials and makes space that implants feelings in the viewer. For instance, the use of wood and moving blankets create visually appealing photos. The materials in the pictures seem to defy gravity. The viewer has to look at them keenly to see how they are supported. Florentin's works are diverse, which demonstrates his interest in various objects. In essence, Florentin ensures that his pieces are tangible. Viewers get a sense of connection to the things necessary for ensuring that the audience makes sense of the exhibition.

She uses digital manipulation to place objects in strategic places that capture the attention of the viewer. David Reinfeld aims to trick the eye by employing digital methods to manipulate photos of nature. He tricks the eye to believe that what one sees is an actual image. Brenda Biondo uses a slightly different approach to manipulating images. She does not alter the individual images but instead displays them to demonstrate various views of trees. Sometimes Brenda uses a close-up to reveal an exciti...
