The film shows the importance of being aware of climate change and that it is a social issue since people are now aware of how climate change can affect them, their families, and other people close to them. The film reveals that society has grown larger and more diverse (Global Documentary). The earth is also a living planet that needs to be protected so that humans continue to exist, such as limiting the global temperatures increases to less than 2 degrees. Despite this threat, people are ignorant about climate change even if they know it is happening (Klein 4). By the time people start to take major steps in preventing climate change, it would be too late since the worst effects might have started already.
Climate change has led to many changes around the globe. The cases of extreme weather have become the norm, such as extreme storms that cause flooding. The weather has changed dramatically, and now we have short rains and long dry seasons, or vice versa, depending on the location. The rising sea levels are also affecting locations close to oceans or seas since there is a loss of landmass since these locations are getting submerged into water. Water pollution has also increased. For example, the barrier reefs in Australia have been damaged, and it will take years before they can go back to their initial state (Global Documentary). The reading points out that "each supercharged natural disaster produces new irony-laden snapshots of a climate increasingly inhospitable to the very industries most responsible for its warming" (Klein 4). The companies responsible for causing climate change, and are expected to prevent or control it, are suffering the most.
